Inside the art.
Together with Dagmar Woyde-Koehler, we were able to bring some of Oubey's work into the modern era and
develop three exciting virtual reality applications.
The user is in the middle of the artworks and can play and interact with them. The point of view changes
and the user engages with the works in a new way. The three applications were developed in Unity and are
freely available to everyone in the Steam Store. The first impression - if you don't own a VR headset,
you can get a first impression on the website we developed, where all projects are presented.
Here we abduct the user into a narrow, threatening space. Like Oubey in the original picture, the user can expose cuts that then create their own work of art. The virtual Katana becomes a brush and the user an artist. The soundtrack created especially for the experience enhances the experience enormously and creates a very special atmosphere.
Like the Leibniz model, Oubey has also created a multitude of small elements that are on "wandering". In our Virtual Reality Experience, the user can interact in a room with every brushstroke and thus rearrange the picture. Each element is movable and can be moved by the virtual hands or by roaming through the elements. Here, too, the user's own soundtrack underscores the experience.
In this experience we take the user on a journey through three of Oubey's works. We start with a painting, which triggered the association with the earth in us. From there we travel upwards through two different works of art. The user feels like an astronaut flying through the hemisphere - only he is looking at the unique paintings of Oubey. Thanks to the spherical music, the journey becomes something very special.
