We develop and produce interactive 360° experiences based on real locations, people and situations.
From the initial idea through 360° video production to the finished browser-based application, everything is created in-house by our team.
Our 360° worlds can be experienced on desktop computers, smartphones and tablets, and with a VR headset – without app installation and directly in the browser.
The terms are not always used consistently. Some look for a 360° film, others for a VR film, a virtual tour, a panoramic walk-through or a 360° application. In most cases, they refer to something very similar: a real place or real situation is made digitally explorable.
A classic 360° video allows viewers to look around freely during a film. A virtual tour connects multiple 360° captures into a walkable experience. Our interactive 360° experiences go even further: users can not only look around, but also explore their surroundings, discover content, interact with people and objects, solve tasks and make decisions.
This turns a 360° film into a self-contained digital application.
To combine real 360° footage with more advanced interaction, we developed our own technology and a tailored production workflow.
This makes it possible for our 360° experiences to include the following interactions:
Many of these functions are otherwise associated mainly with computer-generated real-time 3D applications. We transfer them to real 360° footage. As a result, our experiences combine the credibility of the real world with the possibilities of an interactive digital application.
The level of interaction is developed individually for each project. It can range from a clear virtual tour with additional information to a complex learning environment with branching stories, gamification and numerous action possibilities.
Real footage conveys something that is difficult to replace with a fully artificial environment: authenticity.
In our 360° experiences, users encounter real people in real places. They can explore a workplace, visit a landscape, enter historical rooms or experience situations that are difficult to access in everyday life.
We do not leave the story to chance. Good storytelling in 360° must provide orientation without restricting user freedom. Through visual guidance, spatial audio, timing, interaction design and carefully staged sequences, we ensure that important content is not missed.
The result is not a film that was merely recorded around the viewer, but a spatially designed experience.
Our 360° experiences are typically browser-based. Depending on the concept, they work on:
No app needs to be installed. The application can be published as a standalone website, embedded in an existing website or connected to a learning platform.
If the experience is primarily meant to be used with a VR headset, we tailor navigation, interaction, interface and dramaturgy to that context. More on this under Virtual Reality.
As an agency for interactive 360° productions, we manage the entire project workflow:
Our productions are created from Bremen for locations across Germany and internationally. Depending on the project, we combine 360° video and 360° photography with classic film, photography, 3D, animation, spatial audio, maps, data, gamification and generative AI.
An interactive 360° experience is a digital application based on real 360° photo or video recordings. Unlike a standard 360° film, users can actively navigate, access content, interact with people or objects, complete tasks and make decisions.
The terms are often used interchangeably. A VR film usually refers to a 360° video that can be watched via a VR headset. A 360° film, however, may also be viewed on a computer, smartphone or tablet. The key point is less the name than the intended use and the desired level of interactivity.
A virtual tour usually connects several 360° panoramas. An interactive 360° experience can additionally include videos, real people, stories, tasks, decisions, gamification and more complex interactions. The boundaries are fluid and are shaped according to the project.
Possible interactions include moving to other locations, selecting and using objects, conversing with real filmed people, branching actions, quiz questions, point systems, media content and AI-supported dialogues. The right functions depend on the content, the target audience and the context of use.
No. Our 360° experiences can normally be used directly in the browser on a computer, smartphone or tablet. Additional use with a VR headset is possible for some projects. This allows the application to reach a broad audience without requiring special hardware.
Yes. The application can be published on its own URL or integrated into an existing website or platform. Integration with learning platforms and other digital systems is also possible depending on the project.
The cost depends on factors such as the number of filming locations and scenes, the type of recordings, the extent of interaction, post-production, languages and technical integration. After an initial discussion, we develop a suitable project structure and provide a transparent offer.
At the beginning are goals, target audience and intended usage context. These are followed by concept development, interaction design and production planning. After the 360° shoot, we edit the material and develop the finished browser-based application. Design, programming and testing are considered together from the start.
Whether it is a 360° film, VR film, virtual tour or a broader interactive learning environment: together we develop the format that best fits the content, the target audience and the intended use.
